Chelsea Stevens is an upright & electric bassist and vocalist working regularly in the greater Los Angeles area. Chelsea began her music career on the violin at age five, winning numerous classical awards before switching to bass at 13 to pursue jazz and popular music. She recently graduated with a degree in Jazz Bass Performance from California State University, Long Beach, where she was part of both of the university’s Downbeat award-winning ensembles: vocal jazz group Pacific Standard Time, and the instrumental department’s Concert Jazz Orchestra.
Chelsea now works full-time as a freelance musician in a myriad of capacities. She made her television debut shortly after graduating college as a featured sidelining musician on the Emmy-winning show, Glee, appearing in many episodes of the production’s final season. She is now the bassist for Latin America’s version of The Tonight Show, Estrella TV’s Noches con Platanito. Chelsea also spends much of her time performing in a number of musical groups at the Disneyland Resort. She continues to live and work in Southern California as a freelance bassist, violinist, vocalist, contractor, arranger, copyist, and private instructor, playing and singing all styles of music in a wide variety of venues.
